Playing in the sand with Daddy.

This was probably Owen's favorite thing all week, playing in the kayak. He loved it! I think he would have stayed there all day if we let him.

Owen had a great time at the beach last week. He loved the sand. He loved playing with it and crawling around in it. He wasn't too sure about the water at first, but he started to like it more towards the end of the week. More beach pictures to come soon.

Owen's cousin was born Sunday July 23 at 6:48 pm. 7 lbs 14 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. They named him Samuel William and everyone is doing fine. He's absolutely adorable.

Owen turned 10 months old yesterday. It's been an eventful month! He learned how to sit up from a laying down position, how to crawl and how to pull himself up on furniture, which he especially loves to do in his crib when he's supposed to go to bed.

I am very busy following him around all day, and the dog is very busy running away from him!

On Saturday Owen will have his first trip to the beach, we'll be out there all week. Let's hope the weather cooperates! It should be fun.

Owen is going to have a new little cousin any day now!

Check it out! My little guy is crawling! He still needs to work on his technique a bit, but he's getting where he wants to go. He is so busy with the crawling though he has informed me he has no time for naps. He has too many things to explore now. Sleep? Mom, are you crazy? Who needs sleep anyway?

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had a little barbeque with my mom and Dan's family. Owen had a great time wearing Aunt Libby's glasses and charming everyone.

9 months old today! He had his 9 month check up Friday. He weighs 21 lbs, 4 oz and is 29 1/2 inches. He still does not crawl but he is trying really hard. He usually ends up crawling backwards though. He loves standing up and started saying Da-da-da-da a couple weeks ago. He had already been saying ba-ba-ba for a while, now we need to work on saying mama!

The boy has not been wanting to take an afternoon nap lately. I decided to try putting him down later than usual yesterday. I took him for a walk about a 1/2 hour before I was going to try putting him down. He passed out at the very end of the walk. I was thankfully able to get him into his crib without waking up and then he slept for 2 hours! Woo Hoo! He hasn't slept that long for his afternoon nap in a couple months! He slept through a pretty loud storm, thunder, lighting and marble sized hail. I just hope he keeps this up! Long nap = happy boy!

Here is a picture of Owen still cookin 1 year ago today, 23 weeks pregnant. Sorry it's kind of dark. You can click on it to make it bigger. This is before we bought our living room furniture and there were no lamps in the room. Now we have one lamp! We should probably get some more. But hey, at least we have couches, end tables and a coffee table now. We're making progress!

Dan started the painting project this weekend. He got all the old paint off of the front of the house, but it's just too humid right now to paint so he'll paint next weekend if the weather is nice.


Owen happy as ever.

This is how I discovered Owen after his nap the other day. He seems to think sleeping sideways in his crib is more fun than sleeping the regular way. Hey, whatever you want kid , just as long as you sleep!

Owen's bottom two teeth are coming in. They have just popped through the gum today. He doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. He's still sleeping well and in a relatively good mood, knock on wood. He's just chewing everything he can get his hands on right now.

Look who's 7 months old!!!

I found this hat in Owen's drawer today. This is the hat they put on his head when he was born. It was hilarious then and it's even funnier now! I think Owen might be starting a new trend here. It's quite a fashion statement!
